Prajapati case: NCSC writes to CBI
The National Commission for Schedules Castes (NCSC) has written to the CBI requesting a thorough probe into the Tulsiram Prajapati murder case in wake of a recent sting operation.
Meanwhile, Congress on Thursday also stepped up attack on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi saying real criminals are still not in jail and sought action on new facts emerging after the sting operation related to Prajapati killing.
According to sources the commission also decided to conduct its own probe into the matter. The commission on Thursday issued notices to Gujarat chief secretary and director general of police, seeking details in the matter immediately, failing which it would summon them. Attaching a CD of the sting operation, the commission has written a letter to CBI director Ranjit Sinha, saying a report in the matter should be furnished urgently to the Supreme Court in view of the revelations in the enclosed CD, sources added. The panel said it has taken “serious cognisance” of the case in view of the sting operation. “The issue further becomes serious because this particular encounter murder case is being investigated by CBI and monitored by the Supreme Court,” said the letter written by the commission’s joint secretary T. Theethan.
