Poor response annoys Azam
Senior minister Azam Khan is reportedly annoyed with UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav over the lack of response to his letters.
Mr Khan had written to the chief minister drawing his attention to the poor health services in his constituency, Rampur.
“Instead of taking some action on the issue, we discovered that doctors posted in Rampur are being encouraged by vested interests to seek their transfer out of the district and blame Mr Azam Khan for the state of affairs,” said an aide of Mr Khan.
The Samajwadi Party national executive meet that began in Agra on Wednesday is believed to be crucial from the point of the Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting is slated to take decision about the party’s posture in the polls and also discuss threadbare the performance of the Akhilesh Yadav government in the state.
Incidentally, Mr Azam Khan has also stayed away from four cabinet meetings in a row, sending a clear signal about his state of mind.
However, the shadow of the escalating communal tension across the state and its criticism from several quarters has already spoilt the party mood and Mr Azam Khan’s absence will only add to it.
