Polls, price rise to dominate CPM meet
The preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal and Kerala, corruption and price rise are expected to dominate the three-day meeting of the CPI(M) central committee beginning here on Friday. The meeting of the Central Committee comes after the party units of West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and
Pondicherry met to finalise their poll preparations for the Assembly polls. The Central Committee would discuss in-depth the reports of these state units on the poll arrangements, especially in the Left strongholds of West Bengal and Kerala, party sources said.

Apart from reviewing its preparations for the assembly polls in West Bengal and Kerala, the meeting is expected to discuss its strategy to counter price rise and raise its pitch against the government.
The party has been critical of the government on the General Budget as well as its “neo-liberal” economic policies which.
