LUCKNOW, NOV. 4
High drama was witnessed in the state capital’s Indira Bhawan that houses government offices on Friday night when senior IPS officer Devendra Misra, presently posted as DIG fire services, locked himself in his office alleging a threat to his life from UP chief minister Mayawati.
All top police and district officials reached the DIG’s office and tried to persuade him to come out of his office. Officials claimed that the DIG was mentally unstable and could harm himself.
Earlier in the day, Mr Misra alleged that massive corruption had taken place in the purchase of fire brigades and he was being pressurized. He was later taken to hospital.
