Police tow car with three-year-old child sleeping inside
In a case of negligence, a car with a three-year-old child sleeping in it was towed away by cops in a East Delhi locality on Saturday and the wailing kid remained undetected for almost an hour at the police station.
Anil Bedi and his wife parked their Santro car near a nursing home in an unauthorised area in Lakshmi Nagar and left their child sleeping in the vehicle while they went to buy medicines, police sources said. Meanwhile, a traffic constable came and the car was towed away to Shakarpur police station, about 2 kms away, by the policemen who did not see the child, they said.
When the parents returned, they were told by a passerby that their car had been towed away, following which they reached the police station. The child remained locked in the car for almost an hour but the cops had no clue, the sources said.
The car was opened and the child rescued, they said, adding the baby is now doing fine. A show cause notice has been issued to traffic personnel involved in the incident, police said.
