Police detain Speak Asia COO

The Economic Offenses Wing of Mumbai pilice on Friday took into custody the COO of Speak Asia.

The online survey company COO Tarak Bajpai was detained in connection with a Rs 2000 crore scam.

ED will inspect Speak Asia Online (SAOL) under section 591 of the Companies Act, 'which is applicable on
companies incorporated outside India and has established a place of business within'.

The move hit Speak Asia just two days after CID froze the its bank accounts.

Sleuths are investigating Speak Asia for multi-level fraud. FIRs and PILs have been filed against it.

However, the company has claimed that it collects money only for its online magazine and that the survey is just a benefit.

"Thre other officials of speak Asia are likely to be arrested soon," officials said.
