PM, Sonia arrive in Manipur

Prime Minister Manmohon Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived here on Friday on a day's visit to Manipur.

The VVIPs were received at the Imphal airport by Governor Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, his cabinet colleagues and high officials. Accompanying them were Union Law minister Salman Khurshid and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office V Naryanswamy.

From the airport, the VVIPs were flown to Kangla helipad here in three helicopters, the sources said. Union Doner minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar had arrived here yesterday.
