PM: chinese science ahead of india’s

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday expressed regret that during the past few decades “India’s position in the world of science has declined and been overtaken by countries like China”. In order to “change the face of Indian science”, Dr Singh said the “supply chain needed to be strengthened” by being able to attract the best students.
The PM also wanted science to tackle the problems of the poor and underprivileged and not be pre-occupied with the problems of the rich.
