Pancholi son quizzed after jiah death

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Juhu, Mumbai at around 11 pm on Monday night. Preliminary investigation suggests that her strained relationship with boyfriend Suraj, son of Aditya Pancholi, may have triggered the suicide. She was also going through a professional slump, which may have added to her emotional instability, claims the police.
The Juhu police said Jiah’s mother returned home at 11.23 pm and saw her hanging in the bedroom of their two-bedroom apartment in Juhu’s Sagar Sangeet building. There was no suicide note. The police found ayurvedic sleeping pills in her room and said she had been suffering from depression for the past three months and was taking medication for it.
Additional commissioner (west region) Vishwas Nangre-Patil said, “Depression seems to be the reason for her suicide. She had exchanged phonecalls and text messages with Suraj all through Monday.” According to the police, Jiah also met Suraj on Monday morning. Suraj was summoned by the Juhu police on Tuesday. He arrived at the police station with his father Aditya around 12.30 pm and was questioned till 5.30 pm.
