Pak will face pressure: India
India is hopeful that the testimony of Headley that the ISI and its operatives were involved in the Mumbai attacks will put pressure on Pakistan on its links with the terrorists. “After the embarrassment caused to the Pakistani authorities over Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden’s presence in that country, Headley’s revelations about the ISI’s
complicity in 26/11 should force Pakistan to act,” an official said, adding that Pakistan continues to be in a denial mode. What comes as a positive development for the Indian security establishment is the fact that the disclosures made by Headley are likely to strengthen the lawsuit, filed in a federal court in New York, by the family of 26/11 victims Rabbi Gavriel Noah Holtzberg and his wife Rivka.
In the lawsuit, ISI chief Shuja Pasha and LeT are being sued for the Mumbai attack.
