Orissa steel plant DGM burnt alive by workers
In a gruesome incident, agitated employees of a steel plant Thursday burnt alive deputy general manager Radheshyam Ray at Titlagarh town, 450 km from here. He received 90 per cent burns and died later Thursday.
The police said some suspended employees of Powmex steel plant stopped the DGM’s car as he was going home for lunch, asked the driver and others to get down from the car and poured kerosene, setting it on fire.
Company security guards rushed there, rescued Mr Ray and rushed him first to the Titlagarh subdivisional hospital, which referred him to Rourkela’s Indira Gandhi Hospital. As his condition worsened on the way, he was taken to Bolangir district hospital, where he was declared “brought dead”.
