Opp. set to corner Maya in Assembly
The deteriorating law and order situation, the burden of additional taxes, worsening power situation and the atrocities on dalits are some of the issues that will dominate the brief Monsoon Session of the UP Assembly, beginning on Friday.
The Opposition is all geared up to corner the Mayawati government on the bomb attack on UP minister Nand Gopal Nandi and the murder of BJP MLA Hukum Singh’s wife in Muzaffarnagar.
“These two incidents are enough to prove that the law and order situation has gone for a complete toss. There is complete jungle raj in the state and the Mayawati government has failed to ensure the safety of elected representatives. My party along with other Opposition parties will give this government a grueling time,” said the leader of Opposition, Shivpal Singh Yadav on Thursday.
Mr Shivpal Singh Yadav added that political killings in the state were increasing by the day and members of Opposition parties were being targeted.
Congress legislature party leader Pramod Tiwari said that his party would raise all issues of public concern but added that the session was too short to enable the Opposition to place its view and seek an explanation from the state government.
