One arrested in Kanpur for Shehla murder
Another man has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood in Bhopal.
The Special Task Force (STF) swooped on Tabish after another accused, Irfan, spilled the beans on his involvement, police sources said Monday.
STF personnel assisted by local police zeroed in on his Baconganj hideout and arrested him.
The team is questioning him in Lucknow, an STF official said.
Investigators say that Tabish was a friend of Irfan, who allegedly shot dead the RTI activist.
Irfan was arrested by the STF Feb 27 and he told police of the complicity of Shanu Olanga and Saleem in the crime.
Olanga had been given the contract by 'someone' in Bhopal to bump off Shehla. They had reached Bhopal Aug 10 last year.
Irfan admitted he was paid Rs.3 lakh for the contract.
He was taken on a transit remand from Kanpur prison to Indore where he has been produced before the CBI court.
