Nothing suspicious in Batcha death: CBI
The CBI probe into the mysterious death of Sadiq Batcha, an alleged business associate of former telecom minister A. Raja, has not revealed anything suspicious.
Sources in the agency said, “Agency’s probe into Batcha’s death has not revealed anything suspicious. The agency officials constructed the chain of events and found
that the Chennai police probe into his death was right. The agency conducted its investigations under section 174 of the CrPC.” The 47-year-old Batcha, owner of Chennai-based Green House Promoters, was found hanging at his home in Chennai on March 16. The Chennai police probe had not found any foul play in the death of Batcha.
The agency officials believe that Batcha, who was managing director of Greenhouse Promoters, was aware of the money trail in 2G spectrum scam. It may be recalled that Shahid Balwa of Swan Telecom, in a letter written to the CBI, had mentioned that Mr Batcha reportedly provided him details about the possible investments in real estate.
