No question of joining UPA govt: Mulayam
Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday ruled out the possibility of his joining the UPA government. He said while the SP would continue to support the UPA-2 government to keep communal forces at bay, there was no question of joining it. “We’ll oppose the government in the Lok Sabha whenever there is a need to do so,” he said.
“There is no proposal from their side or our side on this... and we are not interested either. Why should we join the UPA for a year or so?”
Asked if he would step in to save the government in an emergency, the SP chief said: “It’s up to the Prime Minister to save his own government. There are many parties supporting the UPA, and so are we.”
He refused to comment on the Trinamul Congress fracas, saying it was that party’s internal matter.
