Nitish seeks to woo youth on Twitter
Poll-bound Bihar chief minister and senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar appears to be banking high on the youth to bring him back to power in this year’s state Assembly elections. Heaping high praise on the achievements of the youth of the state, Mr Kumar in his recent blog post has commented that the youth of Bihar have not only
rejected the bahubalis (musclemen) in the elections, but are setting high standards for the political class and bureaucrats as well, which he take as challenge in his bid to gain the faith of the people again.
The Bihar chief minister has spread out to Twitter and Facebook, apart from blogging to communicate with the larger section of the youth. He recently tweeted: “Badal raha hai Bihar (Bihar is changing),” while giving credit to the youth for being the agent of change in the state.
In a tactical move, Mr Kumar is making attempts to position himself as a leader of the youth who are being seen within the state political circles as an influential agent to change the opinion of the voters. “I have noted in my recent visits to connect with the people that the youth have chosen those as their role model who have made qualitative contributions in the field of education and social development in place of musclemen. This is an effective change which in the coming time will give birth to growth oriented character which will not tolerate political, bureaucratic and social mediocrity,” Mr Kumar said.
has noted in his blog.
