Nitish gets BJP pat on back
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, who flagged off BJP leader L.K. Advani’s Janchetna Yatra from here on Tuesday, asked Mr Advani to visit Bihar again once the yatra had been completed. He boasted about the steps taken by his
government to check corruption. Addressing the gathering, Mr Advani reiterated that all scams under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government would be highlighted through the yatra, including the black money issue and the cash-for-vote scam. He praised Mr Kumar for bringing measures to check corruption as well as implementing development schemes in his state.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj showered praise on Mr Kumar, saying Bihar is proof of “good governance” under NDA rule. Without naming anyone, Ms Swaraj said while one of JP’s students (a reference to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav) brought misery to Bihar, his other two students, Mr Nitish Kumar and Mr Sushil Modi, have led the state on the path of growth and development.
Other senior BJP leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and Mr Ravishankar Prasad, also praised Mr Nitish Kumar for the development in Bihar.
