Nine killed in lightning

Nine persons were killed after being struck by lightning in North Dinajpur district on Monday, police sources said.

The nine persons-- seven men, one woman and a child were in the field at Chilandighi, about 30 km from here when lightning struck them at around 11 a.m. during rains, the sources said.

The bodies were being brought here from Chilandighi, the sources added.
