NDA to raise pressure on UPA
Mounting pressure once again on the Congress-led UPA over the black money issue as well as corruption, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani on Sunday declared that all NDA MPs will give a declaration to their respective presiding officers in Parliament during the Winter Session
beginning Tuesday that they do not possess any illegal wealth or hold bank accounts abroad.
The senior BJP leader’s announcement came on the final day of his 38-day-long Janchetna nationwide yatra at a big rally at the Ramlila Maidan here.
Gearing up for what promises to be a stormy session, the BJP wants to yet again try and put the government on the mat over black money. BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who also spoke at the rally, said his party would continue the campaign un-til the government took concrete steps to bring back black money stashed in tax havens abroad.
Mr Advani said the people should know the names of the 700 individuals, including some MPs, whose names were provided by the French government as having illegally stashed money abroad. He said the NDA MPs will submit their declarations within a week of the session’s start.
