A local court here has issued non-bailable warrant against the deputy jailer for failing to appear before it in connection with a case relating to a prisoner's escape.

The Izzatnagar police has obtained a non-bailable warrant against deputy jailer of Bareilly central jail Amarjeet Singh, allegedly absconding, which will be pasted at his residence, prosecution sources said.

Raees Ahmad, who was serving life sentence in a murder case, escaped from the central jail after scaling the wall on January 13, they said.

Nine persons, including two deputy jailers, were suspended in this connection, they said, adding that while others got bail, Singh did not appeared before the court for the same.
