...Narrates tale of ‘2 Singhs’
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, in his inimitable style, narrated “the tale of two Singhs” to pull up the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his failure to arrest sliding rupee, while lauding his counterpart in Chhattisgarh Raman Singh for ensuring development in his state.
“There is a Singh in Delhi (Manmohan Singh) and there is a Singh (Raman Singh) in Chhattisgarh. Both are doctors. Manmohan Singh is doctor of rupee, and Raman Singh is doctor of the people. When Raman Singh has been able to make his people strong by ensuring development of his state, Manmohan Singh has left the rupee battling for life in hospital”, Mr Modi remarked to a thunderous applause of the huge crowd gathered at Ambikapur in Surajpur district in north Chhattisgarh on the conclusion of 30-day statewide Vikas Yatra by chief minister Raman Singh.
Continuing his tirade against the PM, he said, “A youth has mailed me an image of Mahatma Gandhi in which the Father of the Nation is seen searching for rupee from a heap of global currencies with a microscope”. “Government is lost, the money is lost from coffers, and their honour is lost,” he added.
