Naga minister held over arms, cash in his car
In a serious embarrassment for the ruling Nagaland People’s Front ahead of the February 23 polls, home minister Imkong L. Imchen was arrested on Monday with a cache of arms and ammunition and `1.10 crores in cash in his vehicle.
Wokha deputy commissioner Vyasan Ramakrishnan told reporters the Assam Rifles detained Mr Imchen while he was travelling to his constituency, Koridanga in Mokokchung district, from Kohima. “We have arrested him and will produce him before a court,” he said.
Security sources in Kohima said a huge amount of cash as well as arms and ammunition was found during a routine search of vehicles in the minister’s convoy.
Mr Imchen, in charge of the campaign in Mokokchung district, said the money belonged to the party, but could not explain why he was carrying arms and ammunition.

Forensic tests show CD not tampered with
Pramod Kumar
New Delhi, Feb. 18
A forensic examination of a conversation on a CD, purportedly between suspended CBI senior public prosecutor A.K. Singh and Unitech MD S. Chandra, has revealed that the CD had not been tampered with, that the conversation was recorded in continuity and that there was no editing on the CD. It has not, however, established whose voices they are.
