Muslim clerics seek dismissal of UP govt
Even as the Akhilesh government bends backwards to pacify Muslims over the death of terror suspect Khalid Mujahid, Muslim clerics and social activists are now demanding the dismissal of the Samajwadi government in UP.
In a 12-point memorandum addressed to the Governor, and submitted to the Faizabad divisional commissioner Sanjay Prasad, Muslim clerics have openly demanded the dismissal of Akhilesh government.
In Faizabad, Muslim traders closed down their shops and other business establishments to express protest against Khalid Mujahid’s death and state government’s laxity in withdrawing terror cases against Muslim youths who have been falsely implicated in terror cases.
Thousands of Muslims, who had gathered on Faizabad Eidgah premises on Monday evening, protested against the state government over Khalid Mujahid’s death.
Muslim clerics, including Maulana Zamiruddin, Imam of Eidgah and central Masjid Taat-Shah, Hafiz Irfan Ahmad of Madarasa Husania and leader of Jamiat Ulema Hind, Maulana Inayat Ullah- Imam of Nurani Masjid, Shia leader Munir Abidi, Haji Mohammad Anees of Shekh-Ul-Hind Social Forum and Maulana Baadshah, general secretary of Jamiat Ulema Hind have demanded the immediate dismissal of Akhilesh Yadav government terming it as communal and accusing it of patronising riots against Muslims.
