Musharraf feels exit suitable
Former Pakistan military ruler Pervez Musharraf is ready to go back into exile but wants a “graceful” exit, political sources said.
“Pervez Musharraf has asked his friends to arrange for a graceful exit,” a source said.
Mr Musharraf returned home from four years in exile last month but, against his expectations, he was dragged from one court to another in connection with various cases. A court has also banned him for life from contesting elections.
On Wednesday, a five-member US Congressional delegation held a secret meeting with Mr Musharraf, ostensibly to discuss his political future. “They discussed with Pervez Musharraf the current status of his trial and its impact on his party and country’s political situation,” said the source.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Court, Rawalpindi, admitted a request by the Balochistan police to include Mr Musharraf in the investigation of the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case.
