Mulayam wants all-party meet on food security bill
Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Saturday that an all-party meeting should be convened to discuss the provisions of the food security bill.
“We do not favor the bill in its present form. There are certain issues that we want to be deleted and an all party meeting will help in developing a consensus,” he told reporters here.
He said that in a democracy, consensus was a crucial ingredient and the Congress should realize this.
Mr Yadav denied that he was being ‘persuaded and pampered’ by the Congress to support the food security bill.
“No one has pampered or persuaded me till now. I do not know from where you get such reports,” he said.
