Mulayam heaps praise on Advani
Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav did it again on Sunday.
For the third time in a month, he lavished praises on BJP leader L.K. Advani and termed him as an honest person who had suffered a lot during the country’s partition.
“When I say Advaniji is an honest person and he has suffered a lot during the country’s partition, people get angry. But the fact is that he has spent his life in hardship. If a person is truthful and honest, he should be praised— irrespective of the party he belongs to,” Mr Yadav said while speaking at a function in Varanasi on Sunday.
Mr Yadav had earlier described Mr Advani as the “tallest leader” in the country.
Incidentally, Mr Yadav also advised his party leaders not to get carried away by any praise or criticism in the media.
Mr Yadav, on Sunday, also praised Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and said that though he was a rich father’s son, he participated in the freedom struggle and suffered a lot.
The SP leader however attacked the UPA government for its weak policies including the foreign policy which has “left India without any friend”.
Mr Yadav also attacked the Centre on the issue of rise in prices of essential commodities.
