Mother threatening me, says Veerappan’s daughter

Vidya Rani, the estranged daughter of slain forest brigand Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi, on Tuesday alleged threat to her life from her mother and sought protection for her family in Veerappan Nagar here.

Vidya, 22, denied reports that claimed that she had returned to her mother in Mettur after alienating from her unemployed husband S. Deepak, 25, due to poverty.

She explained that her visit to Mettur to collect her educational certificates from Muthulakshmi has been misreported following information received from people with vested interest who are trying to break her relationship with Deepak.

Vidya alleged threat to her life from Muthulakshmi during her stay in Mettur. She sought protection for her family but denied lodging a police complaint against her mother.

Vidya married Deepak in March 2011 against her mother’s wishes and the couple lives in a house in Veerappan Nagar.
