Modi: Promote voter registration
The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday made an appeal to “prominent voices” on the social media, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, HRD minister Shashi Tharoor, Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood actors and fellow party leaders to promote voter registration among youth.
Meanwhile, Mr Modi met BJP chief Rajnath Singh at the latter’s official in the evening where the two leaders discussed poll strategies. Sources disclosed the demand of the party’s Karnataka unit to get back former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in the saffron fold ahead of the Lok Sabha polls along with Mr Modi’s scheduled rallies in Uttar Pradesh were discussed.
Tweeting to each personality, Mr Modi wrote: “...let’s encourage voter registration among 18-24-year olds. Large number of them are unregistered. EC drive presently underway.”
Mr Modi has a major fan following among the youth.
