Modi to focus on weakest zones

The BJP’s star campaigner and head of its campaign committee Narendra Modi is all set to focus on the party’s weakest zones. The Gujarat chief minister, considered as the top contender for the post of the party’s prime ministerial candidate, will be visiting Andhra Pradesh next month to address a youth conclave on “popular demand”. The BJP incidentally has been struggling to make an impact in this state where currently it has only three MLAs. The saffron party is also planning to hold such events and public rallies by Mr Modi in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where the party has no electoral base. The saffron party is desperately trying to increase its base outside the Hindi heartland.
Mr Modi is likely to address the youth conclave in Hyderabad on July 27 as the BJP state unit was being “bombarded” by requests, even through social media, from party workers as well as its supporters to organise the event. Sources disclosed the BJP Central leadership has been flooded with requests from its southern units for Mr Modi to hold public rallies, especially after his recent elevation in the party.
Mr Modi, who himself is an active user of the social media had asked party leaders to use the medium effectively to connect to voters and supporters.

Stay away from cong, rajnath advises jd-u

BJP president Rajnath Singh, on Wednesday, advised the Janata Dal(U) to maintain a distance with the Congress which he termed as “Dhritrashtra”, the blind king.
In an informal chat with mediapersons at his residence here, Mr Singh said that the JD(U) had been a BJ)P ally for 17 years and his party’s doors for it were always open. However, Mr Singh asserted that the BJP will not emerge as a loser after the BJP-JD(U) split but will, in fact, gain ground in the Lok Sabha polls. The BJP president said that the BJP will release its vision document for the people before the Lok Sabha elections and will plunge into the polls with positive issues.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
