MLA was bone of contention?
The CBI investigation into the Shehla Masood murder case has revealed that the Bhopal-based interior designer allegedly decided to eliminate the RTI activist because of her growing closeness with a local BJP MLA.
Investigation has also revealed the interior designer, along with her friend allegedly celebrated the murder of Masood on August 16, 2011, sources said. The agency on Friday arrested the friend in Bhopal. She was arrested by the CBI officials during questioning at the agency office in Bhopal. She will be produced before a designated court in Indore on Saturday. Sources in the agency said, “The friend was aware of the crime and believed to be assisting the alleged conspirator in the killing.” The agency officials, who conducted searches at the residence of the designer on Thursday recovered her personal diary also. Scrutiny of the diary has revealed the motive and the chain of events.
It is suspected that the murder was purportedly triggered by the designer’s obsession with a local BJP MLA who was also close to Masood also.
“Probe has revealed that she was so obsessed with the MLA that she had kept one office staff just for monitoring his movements and analysing call details through his duplicate bills,” sources said.
The agency sleuths found certain crucial entries on the date August 16, the day Masood was murdered at around 11.15 am outside her home in the posh Koh-e-Fiza locality in Bhopal, sources added.
One entry in the diary on August 15 refers to the MLA saying “he did not speak to me for two three days but made a call to Shehla for half-an-hour”, sources said.
