Miscreants loot passenger train in Bihar
Unidentified gunmen shot at and critically injured a passenger and looted valuables and some mobile sets from others travelling by 263 Jhajha-Gaya passenger train at Bansipur railway station in Bihar's Lakhisarai district late on Friday night, deputy superintendent of police (Railway), Mr K.K. Sharma, said.
Around six gunmen boarded the train at Bansipur railway station and went on a looting spree, Mr Sharma said.
They opened fire when a passenger identified as Pankaj Kumar resisted them, he said adding Mr Kumar was seriously injured.
They later managed to flee, he said.
The gunmen looted cash and valuables worth some thousands of rupees from the passengers.
The injured passenger was being operated upon at a private clinic at Lakhisarai, he said.
Raids were on in the area to apprehend the miscreants.
