Mirchi charged in UK with threat to kill
The UK police on Thursday charged Mohammed Iqbal Memon, who is better known by his alias of Iqbal Mirchi, with threat to kill. He had been arrested from his residence at Hornchurch, Essex, on Tuesday.
Mirchi, 61, who has been in the UK since 1995, was charged with threat to kill involving 41-year-old Nadeem Kader, the Met police said on Thursday morning.
However, the police did not respond to any questions about the link between Mirchi and Kader.
Mirchi, who was questioned by the police for almost 48 hours at Romford police station in east London, was produced before Redbridge magistrates’ court in Ilford, Essex, after 4 pm BST on Thursday. Mirchi was refused bail. He is in judicial custody and his next hearing is on October 20.
