Minor girl thrown out of running train in C'garh
A minor tribal girl was seriously injured, when she was allegedly thrown out of a running train by a man known to her, police said.
According to Korba district police, 45-year-old Ramdayal Kenvat threw 12-year-old Manju Binzwar, a student of class VII, from the train on Sunday, when his attempts to sexually abuse the girl failed.
However, even though the victim was later admitted to a hospital, the accused is absconding, police said.
Kenvat was acquainted with the family of the girl and used to often visit their place in Bhaismuda village. On Sunday, he went there and convinced her family members that he can take Manju to Kusmunda village to obtain the scholarship amount and drop her back, they said.
Accordingly, both of them boarded the Chhattisgarh Express train from Sarahbundia station. When the train reached Korba, Kenvat took the girl into an empty bogie and started sexually abusing her.
However, Manju raised an alarm, police said. "When the accused realised that he was not succeeding in his plans, he pushed the girl out of the speeding train. When passengers from other bogies came to know about this, they informed the police and she was rushed to a hospital," he said.
When police approached the victim's family, her father Ramadhar said that after the incident, the accused had come to him and said that Manju had gone mad and had run away after injuring him. Kenvat has a number of cases registered against him, including theft and dacoity, police said.
