Metro Man Sreedharan joins Anna Hazare's campaign
Delhi Metro chief E. Sreedharan on Friday pledged his support to Anna Hazare's campaign for a stringent anti-corruption law in the country.
"He has gone to meet Anna Hazare to extend his support to the veteran social reformer's campaign in his capacity as the president of NGO Foundation For Restoration Of National Values," a Delhi Metro spokesperson said.
Sreedharan, known as the city's Metro Man, sat on the dias with Anna Hazare among the supporters of the fight against corruption and clapped as theatre artistes and singers recited patriotic songs.
Hazare began his fast-unto-death April 5 for the formulation of a strong anti-corruption law in the country. Lakhs of people from all walks of life have extended their support to the crusade.
Earlier in the day, the 72-year-old Gandhian asked his supporters to court arrests April 13 under a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' if the government does not agree to the civil society's demands.
