MBA student shot at by jilted lover

An MBA student was today shot at by a jilted lover, who later allegedly committed suicide in Gudumba area by shooting himself, a senior police officer said here.

Neetu Varma, in her early twenties, was shot at by Abhay Varma with his licensed pistol, at her rented apartment in Vasundhara Vihar this afternoon, Special Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters here.

He said that later Abhay also shot himself with the same pistol and committed suicide.

"The incident is fall out of love affair and both the persons hail from Sitapur district," the SDG said.

He said that the girl was admitted to a trauma centre where her condition was stated to be stable.

Neetu is a student of a private institute - Gyan Institute of Management.
