MAYA to RAHUL: attack centre, not u.p. govt
UP chief minister Mayawati, on Saturday, mounted a blistering attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and said that instead of venting his ire against the UP government, he should express his anger at his own UPA government.
She asked Mr Gandhi not to indulge in vote bank politics and reminded him that welfare issues do not receive any response from the centre and if the prevailing state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh make him angry, the anger should be directed towards the centre which was responsible for it.
“Instead of enacting dramas for the sake of vote bank politics, issuing wrong statements and expressing anger, it would be better if he sought an explanation from his own government,” the chief minister.
“As an MP from UP, he should exert pressure on the union government for releasing funds for the welfare works and projects for Uttar Pradesh,” Ms Mayawati said while inaugurating the Shakuntala Misra University for the Physically Challenged in Lucknow on Saturday.
The chief minister said that inflation could be contained if Mr Rahul Gandhi prevailed upon his government to lower petrol prices.
