Oct. 16: The IAF has denied reports that the UAVs deployed for the duration of the Commonwealth Games descended below 6,000 feet during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games held on October 3.
The IAF spokesperson, in a statement released on Saturday, said that as the UAVs had not descended below 6000 feet no anti-aircraft guns were thus activated. “The composite Air Defence agencies operated as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the UAVs flew and maintained the designated height as per the SOPs,” the clarification added.
