Maoist hitman spotted near AP border
Maoist hitman Ashanna, alias Takkelapalli Vasudeva Rao, was recently spotted near the Andhra Pradesh border in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli.
As he is usually deployed to target VVIPs, the intelligence agencies are not leaving anything to chance.
An intelligence official said, “Ashanna, who left the state after the attack on Telugu Desam chief and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Alipiri in October 2003, has rarely tested the state borders. Why is he here at this time? Is he on an assassination mission? These are big questions that need to be answered.”
“He is part of the Maoist central committee action team which functions independently,” he added.
