Many Maya ministers headed to jail?

As scam after scam unfolds, more and more ministers and legislators of the previous Mayawati government are on their way to jail.
The NRHM scam has already put former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and former BSP MLA R.P. Jaiswal behind the bars and the two have spent nearly nine months in Dasna jail. Former health minister Anant Misra is also on the NRHM radar and the CBI is slowly closing in on him.
Former BSP minister Badshah Singh is in jail in connection with the multi-crore scam in the Labour and Construction Cooperative Federation.
Several ministers in the BSP regime had given lucrative and over priced contracts to their kin in violation of prescribed rules.
Two other former BSP ministers Ranganath Misra and Chandra Dev Yadav are also accused in the LACFED scam and have been on the run since the past one month. If police sources are to be believed, the investigating agency is preparing to take court orders to attach the properties of these two ministers.
Former BSP minister Avadh Pal Singh Yadav is also in hot waters in connection with cases related to the abduction and rape of a girl, disproportionate assets, corruption, land grabbing and his involvement in the LACFED scam.
Mr Yadav, one of the most powerful ministers of the Mayawati regime, finally surrendered in a local court in Etah district on Thursday and has been sent to jail.
Former higher education minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi may also find himself on way to jail soon because of his involvement in the LACFED scam. He has already been summoned by the cops and may have to spend the New Year behind the bars.
Some other ex-ministers facing probe in cases related to the LACFED scam, disproportionate assets, land grabbing and corruption include Ramvir Upadhyay, Nand Gopal Nandi, Sadal Prasad, Anees Ahmad aka Phool Babu and Choudhury Laxmi Narain.
