Man kills wife over strained marital relationship
A 25-year-old woman was stoned to death allegedly by her husband over 'strained marital relationship' at a hill resort in Mussoorie, police said here today.
Sachin Mishra, in his early-30's, killed his second wife Kanak yesterday by crushing her head with a stone at Gunhill.
He later threw the body into a gorge, police said.
Mishra, a medical representative from Uttar Pradesh's Baduan district, took the step as he wanted to be with his former wife, whom he had married in 2008, they said.
The man tried to mislead police by claiming that Kanak had drowned in river Ganga near Geetabhawan Ghat. However, CCTV footage at the ghat failed to support his claim, after which Mishar was arrested, police said.
During interrogation, Mishar told police that he killed Kanak as he was not happy in the relationship and wished to be with his first wife.
According to close acquaintances, Mishar was depressed after his parents forced him to divorce his first wife, whom he had married against their wishes, and remarry.
