Man kills self after wife refuses to watch movie with him

A 25-year-old man, identified as Abdul Rahman, committed suicide just a week after his marriage on Wednesday at Nacharam. Police said Rahman, a resident of Ragavendra Colony, hanged himself to death in his bedroom after his wife refused to watch a movie with him.

According to the Nacharam police, Rahman, who had a catering service, got married to Anees Fathima seven days ago. “On Tuesday night, he came home with the CDs of some film to watch with his wife.

However, she refused saying she was sleepy. She then went and slept in another room,” said Nacharam inspector M. Sreenivasa Rao.

The incident came to light when Fathima went to her husband’s room early on Wednesday morning. She found Rahman hanging from the ceiling, police said.

The victim’s body was sent to Gandhi mortuary.
