Man from Kerala detained for clicking PC photo
One of the two men from Kerala detained by security agencies at Chennai airport after they took pictures of the interior of Dreamliner last month, was arrested on Tuesday evening when he tried to take pictures of finance minister P. Chidambaram at the airport.
Ameer Thaha of Ernakulam, working for a travel agency, was taking pictures of the minister with his cellphone on Tuesday evening at the airport, when Chidambaram’s security personnel noticed it. Being a minister with Z-category security cover, the guards immediately detained Ameer, and handed him over to the airport manager. “We have arrested him for preventing police from discharging their duty,” police said..
He earlier told police that he was enquiring about accommodation at the airport building. Kerala police have deactivated his Facebook account featuring some material hinting at Muslim fundamentalism.
“I have no knowledge of the incident at all,” said Chidambaram in New Delhi.
