Man beats four-year-old to death, dumps body in pond

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly battered his four-year-old son to death and dumped him and his younger son in a pond after a fight with his wife in Salhavaas village in the district, police said on Saturday.

The two-year-old boy was saved and admitted to hospital where his condition was stable, SP (Jhajjar) Patram Singh said.

Suresh Kumar fought with Rekha on the intervening night between Friday and Saturday as he suspected her fidelity, and in a fit of anger, thrashed Vikas to death, the SP said.

Kumar then dumped him and two-year-old Aakash in a pond, Singh said.

Hearing Rekha's cries for help, neighbours rushed to the spot and alerted the police, he said Aakash was saved and admitted to PGIMS at Rohtak where his condition is stated to be stable, he said, adding that Kumar has been booked under IPC section 302 (punishment for murder) on Rekha's complaint.

Kumar would be produced before a local court on Sunday, he said.
