Mamata motion a flop show: Opp.

The Opposition Left Front, BJP and Congress rejoiced at the rejection of the vote of no-confidence tabled by Trinamul Congress in the Lok Sabha on FDI in multi-brand retail. The Opposition parties’ verdict was unanimous: Mamata Banerjee’s no-trust motion proved a flop show.
CPI(M) politburo member and the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Surjya Kanta Mishra said that chief minister and Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was totally isolated. “She knocked at several doors seeking support for her ill-conceived no-trust motion but no one responded to her desperate calls. Actually no one believes her and this is the reason for her total isolation today,” he added. Dr Mishra claimed that Ms Banerjee knew the fate no-trust motion notice would meet in Parliament but she went ahead. Dr Mishra said that the outcome of the no-confidence motion was not unexpected.
Senior CPI(M) leader Gautam Deb pointed out that not just other parties, Ms Banerjee’s own MP Kabir Suman was not present in Parliament to support the no-trust vote. Lone SUCI MP Tarun Mondal was present in the Lok Sabha but he did not rise in support of the motion although SUCI was Trinamul Congress ally in both the last Lok Sabha and the Assembly polls. “The message was clear: Mamata Banerjee had been cornered in national politics. There was no taker for her brand of politics in New Delhi,” state BJP president Rahul Sinha added.
Mr Deb said that Ms Banerjee’s isolation was the result of her unilateral and abrupt policy decisions.
