Major rejig after Dasara

The proposed cabinet reshuffle is going to be a major exercise as far as numbers are concerned.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to induct about 15 new faces in this exercise which is expected any time after Dasara festival.

Dr Singh has to accommodate atleast seven Congress MPs from West Bengal in place of six Trinamul ministers who had resigned in protest against the FDI in retail and rise in LPG cylinders prices and Pranab Mukherjee’s election as the President of India.

The NCP has decided to recommend the name of Tariq Anwar in place of the sitting minister Agatha Sangma.

The guessing game continued whether or not Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi join the government.

The Congress has to fill atleast three ministries after the resignation of Virbhadra Singh and Prithviraj Chavan and the death of Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Among the Congress, names of Punjab governor Shivraj Patil, Janardan Dwivedi, Gurudas Kamat, Vilas Muttemwar,

Manish Tewari, K. Rehman Khan, Adhir Chow-dhury, P. Bhattacharya, Deepa Dasmunshi, K. Chiranjeevi are doing the rounds.
