Magnitude 6.8 quake rocks north, east India
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit large parts of northern and eastern India on Sunday evening, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake, with the epicentre in Sikkim, struck around 6.10 p.m., as per the initial report put out by the US agency.
Tremors were felt in Delhi and adjoining regions, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna and Guwahati.
No casualties or damage have been reported.
