Mad rush in Lucknow Sunday
Sunday, November 27, will not be a usual day in Lucknow. The police is all set to issue an advisory asking people not to step out of their houses unless absolutely necessary.
On November 27, Lucknow will witness a surge of people with four major events coinciding on the same date.
The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party is holding a massive rally in the state capital on November 27 and over three lakh persons are expected to pour in from other districts for the event.
The rally, which will be addressed by chief minister Mayawati, will be held at the Ramabai Rally Sthal which is uncomfortably close to the venue of the Lucknow Mahotsav which will begin from November 25. With November 27 being the first day in the Mahotsav fortnight, a massive turnout is expected at the venue, especially since popular singer Roop Kumar Rathod will be performing live on Sunday.
Another major event scheduled for Sunday is the Common Bank Test for clerks that will be held in the state capital and a large number of candidates are likely to take the examination.
The first procession of Muharram would also be taken out on the same day, adding to the communal sensitivity of the situation.
“Sunday will be one of our biggest challenges since four diverse programmes — BSP rally, bank test, Mahotsav and Muharram — are scheduled to take place simultaneously on the same day and none can be postponed,” said a top police official.
