Loitam Richard’s FSL report recorded by police, sent to doctors
Bengaluru District police on Thursday said they have received the forensic report on Manipuri student Richard Loitam who died under suspicious circumstances in a college hostel here.
"We have received the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report, but since it is medical terminology, we cannot comprehend it and have therefore sent it to doctors who performed the autopsy on Loitham in Victoria for their opinion", Superintendent of Police Bangalore district D Prakash told PTI.
Meanwhile, doctors at Victoria are yet to receive the histopathology report from the pathology department where Loitham's body parts had been sent after the autopsy, he said.
"Once we get the doctor's opinion about both the FSL and histopathology reports, we will proceed further with the investigation", Prakash said.
On May 1, police registered a case of murder against two students, Vishal and Afzal, the prime suspects named by Loitham's parents in their complaint.
According to police, the students who were studying along with Loitham in Acharya NRV school of architecture, had a scuffle with him and allegedly punched him on his head on the day he was found dead in the Institutes hostel.
Ninteen-year-old Loitham Richard, a second semester student, was found dead in his hostel under suspicious circumstances on April 18.
While police initially said he died as a result of a road accident, the student's friends and family alleged he suffered fatal injuries in an assault by seniors a day earlier.
The death sparked off protests in Bengaluru and New Delhi with the protesters demanding justice for Loitam.
