LoC infiltration bid foiled again

Amid heightened tensions along the Line of Control set off by series of ceasefire violations, the Army on Wednesday said it has foiled yet another infiltration bid from across the de facto border by killing two militants.

Meanwhile, the BSF said on Wednesday that it had foiled an attempt by a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) to target one of its forward posts along the LoC in Krishnagathi sub-sector of Poonch on Tuesday night. A BSF spokesperson in Jammu said that the surveillance equipment detected the Pakistan BAT team walking towards its post around 11.30 pm but alert BSF troopers opened fire resulting in a brief exchange. The Pakistani troops then escaped towards their side of the de facto border.
