L.K. yatra bomb: jaya directs speedy probe

Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa on Saturday expressed relief over timely detection of a pipe bomb on the Janchetna Yatra route of BJP leader L.K. Advani and said she had ordered the police to speed up investigations and bring to book the perpetrators.

“Without any untoward incident, the conspiracy has been foiled which gives me relief. The police has already registered a case and are thoroughly investigating it. I have ordered them to identify the culprits behind the incident and bring them to book quickly,” she said in a statement here.
Ms Jayalalithaa also said Mr Advani spoke to her over the phone on Saturday morning and thanked her for the timely action by the state police in foiling the conspiracy. — PTI
